This piece is an evolving journey, a private chronological-geographical exploration into childhood memories from the moshav where I grew up. Through delving into the local history of the wadi where I spent most of my youth, a retrospective journey emerged, revisiting the events and experiences that shaped my identity and adult life.

The wadi, Nahal HaEla, is located near the ruins of the Arab village “Tell et Turmus” which was captured and destroyed during the War of Independence, and where a famous battle took place between General Allenby and the Ottomans during World War I.

The work combines black-and-white still images, text fragments based on childhood memories, and maps – both personal memory maps and ancient maps of the region.
